Sportacular is managed by Kurt Davies and James Beevers. Both Kurt and James have been involved in sport at the highest level and have over 40 years experience between them.

Kurt Davies

Kurt’s specialism is football. Having played semi-professionally for many seasons, Sportacular children have the fantastic opportunity to benefit from his considerable knowledge and expertise. Kurt continues to run the established ‘Basics to Beckham’ soccer school, focusing on all aspects of the game.

Kurt has also been closely involved with Saint Pierre School for over 15 years. After many years as P.E teacher, Kurt became proprietor in 1992 and has been actively involved with all aspects of the school ever since.

James Beevers

James’ specialism is fencing. James, a resident of Leigh-on-Sea in Essex for most of his life, is a 3rd generation of fencer emulating the success of his mother, father and grandfather, who all fenced at international and Olympic level. James started fencing at the age of 8, and has since gone on to win every British National title including being Senior National Champion 4 times. He has represented Great Britain at no less than 16 World Championships and was a member of the British Team at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.

James also runs the successful Little Musketeers in Essex. Little Musketeers now takes place at many schools in the area attracting hundreds of children every term. What child has not grown up pretending to be a swashbuckling pirate, a duelling Musketeer, or even the master of swordplay himself, Zorro?   Why do they do it?  Because it's fun! Sportacular includes Little Musketeers fencing courses in its activity programmes.

Our staff

We are extremely proud of the calibre of the team we have working for us. All of our staff are carefully selected to bring as much experience, variety and professionalism to our courses as possible. We also work closely with a number of Extended Services hubs to make sure we recruit the best leaders in each area.

All of our staff undergo relevant criminal background checks and attend regular training workshops to ensure they are up to date with policy information and to share knowledge and ideas.
